Driver Agreement

1. Independent Contractor Status

You are an independent contractor providing transportation services, not an employee or agent of TravelGuideConnect. You are solely responsible for your own taxes, operational costs, insurance, vehicle maintenance, and full compliance with all applicable Jamaican laws and regulations.

2. Mandatory Licensing & Insurance

Before listing on World Traveler Connect, you must hold and maintain:

• A valid Jamaican commercial driving licence appropriate for your vehicle type.
• Valid motor vehicle insurance that covers commercial passenger transportation.
• A roadworthy vehicle with a valid fitness certificate (as required by Jamaican law).
• Any relevant route franchise or transport authority permits, if applicable.

World Traveler Connect does not verify these credentials and accepts no liability for unlicensed or uninsured operations. Any claims arising from uninsured or unlicensed activity are your sole responsibility.

3. Vehicle Standards

• Your vehicle must be in safe, clean, and roadworthy condition at all times.
• You must not transport passengers in an overloaded or mechanically unsafe vehicle.
• Air conditioning, seatbelts, and basic safety equipment are expected where applicable.
• You are responsible for all vehicle maintenance, repairs, and associated costs.

4. Safe Driving

You must at all times:

• Obey all Jamaican traffic laws and road regulations.
• Never drive while impaired by alcohol, drugs, or fatigue.
• Use mobile phones only with a hands-free device while driving.
• Prioritise passenger safety over punctuality at all times.

5. Payments

You negotiate and collect all fees directly with travelers. World Traveler Connect does not process payments and takes no commission. You are responsible for all applicable taxes on income earned through services arranged via the platform.

6. Professional Conduct

• Treat all passengers with courtesy and respect.
• Arrive on time and communicate proactively about delays.
• Do not engage in harassment, discrimination, or aggressive behaviour.
• Do not deviate from agreed routes or stops without passenger consent.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance.

7. Incidents & Accidents

In the event of an accident or incident involving a passenger, you must prioritise passenger safety, contact emergency services as needed, and notify World Traveler Connect at support@travelguideconnect.com. World Traveler Connect is not liable for any accidents, injuries, or losses arising from transportation services provided by you.

8. Profile Accuracy

You must keep your profile accurate, including vehicle type, capacity, services offered, service areas, and pricing. Misrepresentation is grounds for immediate suspension or removal from the platform.

9. Suspension & Removal

World Traveler Connect may suspend or remove your profile at any time for violations of this Agreement, safety concerns, traveler complaints, or conduct that may harm the platform. Decisions may be made without prior notice.
